The 2001 maintains structure and depth for a 15 year wine; surprisingly fresh red fruit, with hints of dried fruit that give an idea of its' age. Good through 2030. — 10 years ago
Purple core with small rim variation. Fresh black and blue fruit with olive tapenade, sage, and game. Clean winemaking. Bright acidity to keep it all in check. Could use a couple more years, although just fine now if you like tension in your wine. — 10 years ago
So much fun. Showed age on the nose and palate, with dried red plum, cherry, and cocoa nib. Initially, it had more in common with 30 year old Bordeaux. — 9 years ago
The 2001, tasted blind, had pedigree of Cruise Classe Bordeaux. Cassis, plum, and earth. I have always said that Pepe (along with others) are masters of managing brettanomyces. The feral notes add a complexity rarely found in most wines of the type. — 10 years ago
Precious village level wine from the 2011 vintage. Clean, packed with red plum, cranberry, and ripe cherry. A hint of tilled earth and mushroom keep you grounded in Burgundy. Drinks well now, but can go for 15. — 10 years ago
The 1994 shows some age, but still holds dark compoted fruit, with chicory, mocha, and sage on the nose and palate. Resolved tannin and pedigree. Good now and for the next 7 years. — 10 years ago
Absolutely delicious. Texture and weight medium plus, Stone fruit, and appropriate age has shed the angular notes. — 10 years ago
Moderate ruby, a slight haze through the wine. Red plum, cherry skin, fresh red fruit, with a feral, animal note on the nose and palate. Great with rabbit confit. Medium bodied, and unique in the most wonderful way. — 10 years ago
Chicory, coffee, and celery with gorgeous red plum and red raspberry. The 2007 is in a really nice place; the weight of the wine shows quality in a softer vintage.... — 10 years ago
