Deep purple color, black fruity aroma, full bodied, glorious fruity flavor! Perfect balance. — a year ago
Krug is always most welcome, and Valentine’s Day is no exception. This is edition 169. A bit more yeasty and slightly less acidic than previous versions, to my taste. But if you like the Krug style - which we do very much - it hits the spot per usual.
My wife used to work with Fritz Hatton, proprietor of Arietta wines and auctioneer for Zachys. Fritz always says to have a half bottle of champagne waiting in the fridge in case you need a “midnight snack”, and I have to agree with him! — 4 years ago
Mid Ruby red in colour with a tawny edge. Sour cherry with touches of pepper and cloves. Not as raspberry as I was expecting from old vine Mataro. With a couple of hours of aeration the raspberry notes started coming through finishing with Sandy tannins. This wine is made by the multi talented Andrew Caillard who is the supremo of Fine Wine retailer and auctioneer Langtons who allowed Andrew to make his superb range of wines under his own label using old vine Mataro and Shiraz; painted the exquisite labels himself and who achieved a Master of Wine in his spare time. I am lucky to have 5 of these beauties left. 96 points from James Halliday. — 3 years ago
Detroit born, and now world famous auctioneer and musician Fritz Hatton + legendary and elusive John Koongsgaard = Arietta. BACK in Michigan and in the hands of the good guys! You're welcome! Miniscule quantities on the cult tip.....I'm sorry. — 9 years ago

A fruit forward Cabernet Sauvignon with notes of vanilla and cedar. This is a wide crowd pleaser. — 4 months ago
