Deep purple in color with a short purple rim.
Fruity nose with black currants, blackberries, cherries, vanilla, earth, wood, peppercorn, tobacco, graphite, dark coffee, cloves, spice box and chocolates,
Full bodied and bold with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and extremely fruity on the palate with blackberries, plums, cooked cherries, spices, vanilla, cedar, licorice, cloves, cola, tobacco, peppercorn and espresso.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This Napa Syrah is delicious. Big and bold with lots of fruits.
This Single Vineyard is rich and extracted, and would age nicely in the next 5 to 7 years.
Needs a couple of hours to open up and show the tannins, although, very drinkable right out on the bottle too.

Good by itself or with food. I paired it with a Charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.
100% Syrah grapes from Carneros.
14.5% alcohol by volume.

Little comparative tasting between the 17’ and 12’ vintages:
2017- deep ruby color. Aromas of blackberry, raspberry, flint and cedar. Youthful wine, loads of black fruit on the palate, spice and vanilla notes.
2012- deep ruby with garnet rim. Aromas of blackberry and blueberry. Black currant and leather and oak finish. Solid.

Dark, glass-clinging purple. Inviting nose and full palate of baked blueberries and overripe blackberries in a wooden bowl. Medium acidity. Medium tannins. Wonderfully long finish that continues the palate and adds a dark graphite earthiness. Excellent New World red for classic American meat-centered meals. Steak with a cowboy rub is at the top of the list of course. Drink now through 2031. — 3 months ago
