Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.

Beautiful nose of black currants, plums, rhubarb, cooked cherries, light wood, spices, dark chocolates, black pepper and licorice.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.

Dry on the palate with black currants, plums, cherries, oak, spices, chocolates, tobacco leaf, coffee, licorice, peppercorn, earth and herbs.

Short finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cranberries.

This 13 year old Merlot based blend from Bordeaux is still drinking nicely, although will not last long. Easy drinking and complex.

Good right out of the bottle, and better after 30 minutes of airtime. I really enjoyed the nose once it opened up.

A good food wine that paired nicely with the charcuterie board.

A blend of 50% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc.

Fruity nose and full bodied with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with black plums, cooked cherries, currants, tobacco, light herbs, peppercorn and chocolate notes.

Medium finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.

This young Merlot from Saint Emilion is nicely balanced with mild complexity and a nice mouthfeel.

Good right out of the bottle, and better with airtime.

Easy drinking and good by itself or with food.

100% Merlot grapes were aged in stainless steel vats for 16 months.

Dark purple in color with a wide reddish rim.

Beautiful oaky nose with black fruits and chocolate notes.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with black currants, black plums, cherries, spices, cedar, licorice, vanilla, espresso, cola, light herbs, earth, chocolates, tobacco and black pepper.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.

This is a delicious Merlot from Pomerol. Soft and elegant. Rich and fruit forward. Nicely balanced and complex with a nice mouthfeel.

This 5 years old Merlot is fresh and young tasting. Drinks like a soft New World Cabernet Sauvignon with a touch of old world.

Will continue to age nicely in the next 25 years. Has good potential to become a 95 point wine.

I've had a few vintages of this wine and it is always enjoyable. A great sipping wine.

A blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged for 16 months in (80% new) French Oak barrels.

15% alcohol by volume.

Fruity nose of black currants, blackberries, sweet cherries, light cedar, earth, herbs, light vegetables and chocolates.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with black plums, cooked cherries, spices, chocolates, coffee, peppercorn, licorice, pencil lead and earth.

Medium finish with round tannins and tangy cherries.

This is a tasty Merlot based blend from Margaux. Elegant, complex and nicely balanced.

This second wine from Château Lascombes is rich and fruit forward. Feels like a Right Bank Bordeaux with a touch of New World.

I had the 2018 not too long ago and this one is drinking much better now. Would be nice to revisit it in a couple of years.

Easy drinking and good by itself or with food.

A blend of 68% Merlot and 32% Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged for 16 months in used French oak barrels.

14% alcohol by volume.

This is very tasty Merlot from Saint Emilion. Complex and rich. Nicely balanced, fruit forward and elegant.

This 5 year old Merlot based blend is still young, and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly, but already drinking nicely.

Interesting enough to drink as a sipping wine, or with food.

A blend of 69% Merlot and 31% Cabernet Franc. Aged in (50% New) French Oak barrels for 16 months.

Dry on the palate with black currants, plums, cooked cherries, spices, oak, licorice, light vanilla, dark coffee, tobacco leaf, earth and dark chocolates.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.

This 11 year old Merlot from Saint Emilion is starting to show some age, but still feels very fresh. Rich and fruit forward. Elegant and smooth.

Drinking beautifully now, and will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years. Complex and well balanced.

Good by itself as a sipping wine, or with food.

A blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. Aged in (50% new) French Oak barrels for 16 months.

This 8 year old Merlot from Pomerol is showing a very fresh nose, but starting to show age on the palate. Might be just this specific bottle, though.

Rich and fruit forward. Complex and interesting. Plush and creamy.

Good by itself as a sipping wine and would pair nicely with food too.

100% Merlot grapes were aged for 12 months in (100% new) French Oak barrels.

13.5% alcohol by volume.

Beautiful nose of black currants, cooked plums, light cedar, black tea, Mediterranean spices, dark chocolates, tobacco leaf, herbs, light earth, cola and black pepper.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with black currants, plums, cherries, oak, spices, chocolates, coffee, black pepper and black tea.

Medium minus on the finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a very tasty Merlot from Tuscany. Rich, extracted and still showing lots of fruit notes.

This 10 year old Merlot needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly, but drinking nicely now. Complex and nicely balanced.

The nose is just gorgeous, but the palate doesn’t quite match its complexity.

Needed 2 hours in the decanter to open up and show the beautiful nose.

Robert Parker 96 points. Wine Spectator 95 points.

This Super Tuscan is a little disappointing, as it received great reviews, but I had it blind, so it is what it is.

Good as a sipping wine and better with food.

100% Merlot grapes were aged in (33% new) French Oak barrels for 18 months.

This is a nice Merlot based blend from Haut Médoc. Rich and engaging.

Loved the low alcohol on this one, easy drinking and a good food wine.

A blend of 71% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 14% Petit Verdot. Aged in used French oak barrels for 10 months.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with black currants, plums, cooked cherries, light oak, chocolates, spices, coffee, licorice, light tobacco leaf, earth and herbs.

Tangy finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This 5 year old Merlot blend from Pomerol feels very young and not showing its age at all. Fruit forward with nice complexity and good balance. Elegant with good structure.

Starting to drink nicely now, and needs a few more years in the bottle to mature properly. Will continue to age nicely in the next 5 to 7 years.

Good right out of the bottle, and better after 90 minutes of airtime, when the tannins show up and bring more structure. Spicy and entertaining.

Good by itself or with food.
