The '01s are definitely beginning to grow into themselves. This was absolutely singing. Still light in colour and it's mostly about the fruit at the moment, but has gained considerable richness and some interesting salty/bone marrow' notes since I last had it. Beautiful. — 9 years ago

Juicy citrus, cool herbs, chalk and perfectly judged oak treatment with piercing acidity, this is built for the long haul, it has more in common with Friuli's greatest wines than high end Bdx. Chateau dates back to 13th century, originally used as fortress. 1st known owner was Sieur Raymond Peyraguey, purchasing the property in 1618. In January 2014, Silvio Denz purchased Chateau from GDF Suez. Balanced and fruity, this ripe, sweet wine delivers both botrytis-like character and generous fruit. It has fine acidity to cut through the richness, giving intense sweetness. Drinks well. Bottle age will benefit. — 5 years ago
