Château Martillac

Chateau Latour-Martillac

Pessac-Leognan Red Bordeaux Blend 2010

Pretty deep . Quite earthy , blueberry , blackcurrant , spicy cassis . Good volume , sweet fruit , cassis , spicy blueberry . Ok acidity , quite grippy but ripe tannins . Ok length . Still quite young, will benefit for more time in the cellar . From now and over the next 10 years or so . A good example from this chateau. — 11 days ago

Pessac-Léognan White Bordeaux Blend 2019

58/42 Graves Blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon. Beautiful golden color. Aromas of bold citrus fruits, apricots and white flowers. Bright lemon on the pallet. Creamy finish that has a touch of grass/mint. Fresh and well balanced. — 2 years ago

Pessac-Leognan Sémillon Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Frisk och fruktig doft. I glaset är vinet verkligen grönskimrande. Smaken upplevs ren men väldigt mångfaciterad. Fatkaraktären går inte ta miste på. Tropisk frukt blandat med blommor. Kryddat med lite fänkål och thaibasilika. Syran är lite låg för min smak men överlag ännu en fin vit Bordeaux. — 6 years ago

Chateau Lespault Martillac

Pessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend 2019

Got some characteristic Pessac scents of sappy dark berries and tobacco leaf earthiness. In the mouth it’s pretty broad and big-boned, but the texture is softening. Dry and fairly intense, with savory flavors. My quibble is a lack of mid-palate flavor concentration, but at this price point it’s just a quibble. Very nice weekday Graves. — a month ago

@Tom Casagrande, I see you’re back to drinking at bus stops, did you brown bag it as well and drink straight from the bottle?? 🤷🤔🧞‍♂️

Lagrave Martillac

Pessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend 2014

Toasty, but integrated, softens with air. Roses meet dark forest berries, blackcurrant, mocha, and tobacco. Fresh, juicy with balanced tannin and linear acidity. Touch of heat but the finish builds. Opened with time in the glass. Will age 5+ years. Second label. — 6 years ago

Chateau Lespault Martillac

Pessac-Léognan White Bordeaux Blend 2021

Light yellow with greenish hue; quince, stone fruit like white peach, marzipan, and fine oak notes; large and round on the palate yet has high acids, and an unmistakable Bdx finish. This Graves wine is fresh and vibrant (spänstig in Swedish) and made of 65% Sauvignon and 35% Semillon. — 7 months ago

LaCroix-Martillac

Latour-Martillac Pessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend 2016

Medium ruby with a bright ruby rim . Nice slightly spicy blackberry , blueberry , cassis touches with an earthy, grafite tinge . On the palate shows good balance , and quite high refreshing acidity , more red fruits , with cranberry and red currant complementing the blackberry, grafite and scorched earth notes . Quite saline on the palate with ripe tannins . Ok length not complex or intense but well judged. This is still quite young , enjoyable now though will hold perhaps a further 5-8 years . All considered this is an enjoyable and commendable 3rd wine. — a year ago

Château La Tour-Martillac

Pessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend 2010

Beautiful garnet color in the glass. Subtle aromas of blue and red fruits with very slight hints of licorice. Elegant flavors of cassis, raspberries and some earthiness with a firm tannic backbone. Nicely integrated with a real sense of where this wine came from. The finish lingers with some oak and acidity coming thru with fruit. Bordeaux has not been my favorite in the past but I am trying to learn more about it. Cheers everyone! — 6 years ago
