Fresh, mineral Chardonnay from Cruzille, one of the 26 Mâcon-villages sub-appellations, southwest of Tournus. Fragrant, beautiful nose with aromas of citrus (lime, grapefruit), hints of brioche. Very fresh, great acidity, subtly saline. Good length, green apple flavors. — 4 years ago
Insane value. Lessons in the word ‘Clos’ ...this is absolutely one of them. Being very familiar with the producer’s style I would have to say this terroir outperforms the producer by a long shot. Highly recommended. — 6 years ago
Under the radar ...like this was the buy of the decade for me under the radar. Never actually bought 2 cases of a single wine until this moment. I think it’s the label. Probably no one is buying this but everyone should be. — 7 years ago

@Delectable Wine, this is the Clos des Avoueries Pierres Rouges
Finally a really exciting Macon!
Ripe, yes, opulent, a bit, but the minerality and the brilliant acidity hold this in check resulting in a taut wine with great precision and purity. Stony, pithy, with a long saline finish. Nice energy & depth here.
A really lovely wine! And at only 12.5% alc!
