It had stored in the cellar of Chateau Mercian's Katsunuma winery for 10 years. So it was good condition and has beautiful ageing characters. It perfume well, very stractured body with yeasty and nutty nuance. also has very sharp mineral. — 5 years ago

A true discovery from Asia, this Matcha Wine is unlike anything I’ve encountered. Crafted from the indigenous Koshu grape and infused with premium Matcha sourced from Chateau Katsunuma’s vineyards, it showcases the innovation and tradition of Yamanashi Prefecture. Nestled at the foot of Mount Fuji, in a valley steeped in history, this region is home to Japan’s oldest winemaking traditions.
The wine is a harmonious blend of flavors: the delicate fruitiness of Koshu balanced with the earthy umami of matcha. It’s a sensory journey, offering a bold expansion of the palate, a perfect choice for adventurous wine enthusiasts eager to explore new horizons. Cheers! — 9 days ago

More of a dessert wine. Very sweet and not heavy. — 6 years ago
A glass of Japanese white at the fabulous Hotel Mitsui in Kyoto. Very similar to a Sauvignon Blanc, more specifically a Sancerre from the Loire. Most impressive. I didn’t get to try a Japanese Red yet on this visit but might seek one out in Tokyo tonight. — 2 months ago
Super light like Verdicchio, slight peach and white flower — a year ago
Usually not a huge fan of Koshu grapes as they always seem very flat in terms of flavors, lack complexity, etc. Good for easy summer drinking outside when very chilled. But this had tons of energy and had a bit more of a tropical profile given the warmer location vs other vineyards. Great new domaine from the former winemaker at both Mercian and Katsunuma Jyozo (both top domaines in the Koshu region). — 6 years ago
We had the koshu white and this red. Both were light and delicious! — 6 years ago

I’ll be honest I bought this to blind my wine group and out of curiosity, as I never had a Japanese wine. Impressed how a wine with 10.5% alcohol can produce a very intense , fresh and flavorful wine. Strong herbal, saline and apple scents and flavors. A creamy texture along with some unresolved oak . I would guess this can age and hopefully resolve some of its oak. Needless to say when revealed people were very surprised. — 10 days ago
