My wife hates a Chardonnay so I rarely get to have them anymore out for dinner. I drank this with a plate of baked penne and it was quite good. None of the mega oak flavours I worry about and much more acidic than I thought. Still don’t think it would work for my wife but for me was a delightful wine! That being said I think it’s probably 2x more expensive than its worth so it’s likely my last bottle. Bought from Corney and Barrow in London. — 5 years ago
Great pure breed on the nose, lovely black fruits, good length. Very fine tannins , sweet black fruits on the palate. Really nice length. At the inaugural Corney & Barrow ‘Inner Cellar ‘ dinner — 7 years ago
Less aromatic more strict , more energy and a lovely fine lemon mineral length. Great length. Almost a passion fruit acidity. Nicely balanced Comes across across as quite young . At the inaugural Corney & Barrow ‘Inner Cellar’ dinner. — 7 years ago
A great oak barrow aged wine with a hint of vanilla — 3 years ago
Honey, oranges, mangoes, peaches. All the tropicals.
Ah man, Bloomer Creek just makes me happy. Every time I see their bottles at a retailer, I pretty much have to cop it. Today it was from Frankly Wines in TriBeCa.
Great selection and knowledge at this shop.
A little character in this one, reminding me a bit of an orange wine. Dry and got a nice minerality, but also a honeycomb sweetness and finally a bit of a zing (kind of like the herby citrusy crossover that pine needles have). I went on a guided hike in the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Biologist guide pointed out all the things we could eat in the forest. And we did. No one got sick. My dad told long, unnecessary stories to the other troop members. Ah, simpler times.
This is a glass where you close your eyes, everything else melts away, and you enjoy the simplicity, the balance, the crisp sips. — 4 years ago
Saturated purple pink rim. Quite closed on the nose , lots of spicy black fruits. Huge and long finish , enormous. Great wine even to drink now. At the inaugural Corney & Barrow ‘Inner Cellar ‘ dinner — 7 years ago
Weston hosted Friday group today and was it definitely a can’t miss tasting. Wow! Absolutely knocked it out of the park with heavy hitter after heavy hitter. Similar to Wednesday group, all wines are tasted blind.
At 39yrs old, strutting just fine. Didn’t have the smooth honeyed finish of Sauternes and based on the color, I was unsure if it was port or not (guessed 30+ yr tawny port). Cherry liqueur, toffee, and almond. — 7 years ago
Garnet core bricking rim . Very much alive . Tobacco , leather , rich and enjoyable. Nice sweetness on the palate, really well balanced , nice acidity. Long , mineral , tobacco finish. A complete wine , very enjoyable . At the inaugural Corney & Barrow ‘Inner Cellar ‘ dinner. — 7 years ago
