Stunning cab. Special to get a 2013 bottle of Family Staglin. Cosmos Club Staglin dinner — 2 years ago
Beautiful. Fun to taste the age on this, thought not as exciting as the family Chard. Tasted at Cosmos Club Staglin dinner — 2 years ago
Okay, wow! We liked this right out of the bottle. On the heels of of Cosmos, a French meritage, in an afternoon of football, cheese sticks, smoked turkey and amazing guacamole this wine is full on the nose, Aggressive on the grip, short finish follows a mouthful of flavorful fruit... — 5 years ago
Aramasa strikes again! Although I did prefer the 2020 Lapis we drank this with, the 2021 Cosmos was no slouch. It had all the trademark Aramasa rawness and sapidity, as well as the textural weight and acidity I love. The Cosmos was rounder, more umami, more grain-focused, woodier, less exotic with its fruit notes, and had a perceivable bitterness. It was almost like a darker version of the Lapis to me. Put this altogether and the usual gone-before-you-know-it event ensued. — 2 years ago
Special bottle from no longer farmed vineyard. Went down a bit hotter than the other Staglin cabs. Excellent. Cosmos Club Staglin dinner — 2 years ago
Here’s a deliciously intense rosso wine from the Montefalco DOC in Umbria, Italy (Central). 🇮🇹 It’s comprised of 70% Sangiovese, 15% Merlot, 15% Sagrantino grape varieties. 🍷 Prior to release this wine spent 24 months in large oak barrels, 6 months in stainless steel, 6 months in bottle. 🪵
This is a biodynamic wine, which means it was not only farmed organically, but also pursuant to a philosophy holding that the soil and vineyard are part of a bigger, higher system involving the cosmos. 🌙 This philosophy focuses on biodiversity and using natural and homeopathic preparations to enhance and strengthen the land and vines and their natural defenses. 💪
“Raina” is the nickname of the farmer who previously tended to the land from which this wine hails, a way of honoring the past and paying tribute to this history of the vineyards. 💗
This wine is deeply colored. It has markedly savory aromatic and flavor notes punctuated by blackberry bramble, juicy plum, dried mint, peppercorn, nutmeg, cardamom, smoked meat, leather, earth. Yum! — 3 years ago
Überquell Bambule.Pilsener. Hurricane white head walls. Quick dissipation. Fine to moderate mousse. Cosmos residue. Fireworks lacing shimmery-fizzling in oily skies. Gum eraser, pencil eraser, cinnamon oil sensorily, chives, ; all two dimensional. Lemon pound cake meets lemon marmalade on toast, but cellophane-thin. Cinnamon apple perhaps? Digest this within the aspect/scope of a Pilsner and you are following. Lemon and tangerine entertain scant traces of grapefruit, wheat germ, and lemon-raisin bread. Onion flakes that rain hop dust. The unctuous quality of this beer gives it a textural might! Puts some fleisch on those bones.

I’ve been thrilled about the espresso martini comeback and am waiting for Cosmos to have one, too (I may be waiting for A While). Obviously, it would be better from a chilled cocktail glass, but straight out of a can or (as I am wont to have it) over ice in a movie theater’s free water cup, it has all the flavors, though without the pleasing head of froth many show. Or the floating espresso bean garnish. But otherwise it checks all the caffeinated boxes. — 5 months ago
