Nose has old tar, countless stems of red roses, dried cherry, library stacks and dried raspberry.
Palate has jammy and bright cherry preserves, fresh tart cherry, old leather, moist earthy notes (positive trait) and some neutral wood.
Mellow tannins after an extended decant, this bottle is really singing. I am lucky to have tasted older vintages to give an understanding of where this wine is going. Now, whether or not I have the patience to hold the remaining bottles another 20-years is a major question, very nice today.
Decanted ~3hrs, in a cool place. Not my kitchen today, which was quite warm as I preserved our first real harvest of 2019 tomatoes, converting them into pizza sauce. I beat our first processed batch from 2018 by an entire week...don't believe anyone telling you we're not living through climate change, or more appropriately 'climate disruption' to quote Ralph Nader. This is why the best Nebbiolo is now coming from northern Italy, and the best Pinot will transition to Germany. OK, enough politics, this is a forum for wine, mostly. Cat photo-bombs appreciated in your bottle pics (sorry none from me today). — 5 years ago
What an intoxicating nose! There is strawberry and fig, there is blackberry and plum, there is garrigue and olive, there is a tiny touch of licorice too. Wow that's complex. The palate is very well made. There is a strong acid drive with a beautiful, blossoming fruit touch expanding as it goes, with blackberry and strawberry notes. There is a bit of weight and matter on the sides and a soft mouthfeel, almost like a cushion. The mid palate is a powehouse with a a nice tannins layer adding a bit of disruption on top of that cushiony mouthfeel. That continues in the finish for ever, with those fruity notes and that licorice, olive, garrigue combo that sparks joy with châteauneuf wines. You gotta love it! — 3 years ago
One of the original creations out of the category 12 lab. A surprisingly different IPA, pours like a stout and has a mild hoppiness. Toasted malt comes through for a smooth beer. — 5 years ago
Smokey-ness came through and was actually good tasting. Did not have “drying effect” on my mouth. I’d love to try it again — 6 years ago
Transparent, super light-bodied and delicious. A template of Mourvèdre disruption. @Hardy Wallace — 7 years ago
Sour cherry, leather, hay. Very nice nose, very engaging and inviting. The palate is well made with a good acid drive, a nice bright sour cherry note, it's rather thin than broad, a bit of tannins in the rear, leaving a layer of gentle disruption over a long and bright cherry finish. It's a very good Beaujolais in a subtle, precise style. — 3 years ago
Second time tasting this wine and all my prior notes still apply. This is delicious. Super cherry, pomegranate nose, super acid drive, vivid palate with a lot of energy and a good grip. A good tannins wall brings some disruption to the end of the palate, laying a nice peppery, sandy layer. Lovely. — 4 years ago
a little bit of efervesence. a notch of RS. but really nice. super refreshing — 6 years ago
Excellent value. Developed well for the second glass.

Single-barrel scarcity makes this a “must try.” It generates a meaningful event and a good disruption on the palate.
Green apples combine with melon and bright acidity - the signature of a typical SB. Moderately sweet. Serve it to those who appreciate uncommon excellence in wine. Approach the winery for this. — 2 years ago
