The white wine I bought at Loire shows a lot of minerality with great acidity. Pears, green apples, mandarins, orange blossom. It went perfect with veal meat. Very distinctive. Some barnyard funk in the nose, alongside smoky notes and dark, ripe, pungent berries. Not a shy nose. On the palate it’s earthy, a little funky, with good acids. Nice structural balance to counter the nattie flavor profile. A Crozes that marches to the beat of its own drummer.
UPDATE: Night 2, there is an overwhelming nail polish remover scent that’s taken over. Yuk. Down the drain. If you have these, drink them soon, and fast. — 2 days ago
