Rich fruit forward with black raspberry currant with a little spice. — 2 years ago

When in Argentina drink…… Grenache? Proof positive that there is more than a bland sea of Malbec here. Single plot of old vine Garnacha from the north, in Salta, which aside from Patagonia, makes in my mind some of the more interesting wines in Argentina . Medium to light bodied, builds intensity & flavor quite quickly. Looks deceptively light ruby in color, because this is a powerful wine. Black cherries & menthol on the palate, with some serious tannic grip that screams room to age and decanting. Quite mineral. At this stage an ideal food wine, and drinks like a tough Nebbiolo. Even RP gave a high score. What a delightful surprise. — 2 years ago
