Dark cherry, leather, menthol, cinnamon, and oak on the nose. More dark cherry, cinnamon, leather, and oak on the palate along with raspberry, plum, cola, cocoa, aniseed, eucalyptus, and green pepper. Medium tannin, medium alcohol, high acid, and medium plus finish. As with most riojas, punching well above its price point. — 4 years ago

Reasonable complexity on a relatively open and oxidised base, but a little short. Probably drunk a little to quickly and in the wrong company (the wine, not the people). Perhaps not the best bottle but holding up remarkably well. — 8 years ago
