#1 of Jura Savoie evening
40/40/20 blend of Chardonnay / Jacquard and Mondeuse Blanc
Clear & pure as a alpin glacier.
Shy herbs, salty notes and faint whiff of underripe lemon.
On the palate this is crisp, lean and so juicy. Great purity and minerality. So devoid of fruit and yet with a lot of character. This is surprisingly nice and highly drinkable. — 2 years ago
— 4 years ago
Really like this wine, Brian Watson brought it we had from Easter — 3 months ago
Spice cake. Vanilla. Glacier cherry. — 2 years ago
Fruit filled glacier water with depth and a mineral finish. Pretty long for an ‘instappertje’ — 3 years ago
Dusty on the outside but pristine on the inside. I’ve tasted this a handful of times over the last 15 years and it’s developing at a glacier-like pace. Still bright in colour and long and structured with red and blue fruits foiled by herbs and some stemmy notes. Classic Allemand and my favourite of the ‘90s along with ‘94 & ‘99 - 1995 — 4 years ago
Great structure, nice body, chewy, with verve. Earthy and savory, baked clay, underbrush, smoke and menthol. Just a tad austere. More generous fruit would have elevated this.
It hit another level on day 2, with the flavors crystallizing and more dried fruit, coffee, and milk chocolate coming on. Complex, food friendly and delish! — 2 years ago
This is a beautiful Carménère, all earthy and full of savory minerality. The blackberry and black plum aromas creep through the smell of that dirt with tar, forest floor and tobacco all over them. A hint of vanilla sweetens the sniff a bit. On the palate, the dark fruit is draped in sweet oak spice, and you’ll find a bucketful of tannins until the glass has been sitting for awhile. This is a steak wine, intended for a big, juicy piece of beef. — 4 years ago

Quite bold and full and nice. Good balance of fruit and tannins with hint of smoke. — 3 months ago
