Black currant and other dark fruits at its best — 6 years ago
Thank you @David L for sharing! Fantastic Napa Cabernet.
Deep purplish ruby red. Rich nose with dark cocoa, blueberries, pencil shavings, gravel, and perfume. Heavy tannins (7/10) and full bodied. Approachable for being Mountain fruit and so young. Layered palate with some dark mountain berries, dusty notes, dark cocoa, and a little powdery mouthfeel. Lovely long and integrated finish. Drink till 2030. (94+)
Made up of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from a single block (Coliseum Block) on the Hossfeld Vineyard in Napa Valley. Aged for 30 months in French oak barrels and then for an additional year in bottle before release. — 8 years ago

Sourcing their fruit from Hossfeld Vineyards which suffered substantial losses in the fire of 2017, this high altitude 2/3 tempranillo 1/3 Cabernet from Parador is very unique and went perfectly with smoked paprika pulled pork sandwiches! This wine poured a dark crimson with purple edges. Nose of smoky blackberry and sweet fruit opulence. Palate is brambly and reminiscent of a young Vega Sicilia which is leathery, smoky, Blackberry and drunken black cherry-rich. Middle has a fair amount of earthy, soil driven tar and ashy loam. Finishes with good acidity which danced well with the pork and stood alone quite well. A baby, but very curious about this wine. Well made and hope to acquire future vintages! — 7 years ago
Deep Ruby with concentrated aromas of ripe black fruit with subtle nutty spice & bitter chocolate. A blend of 93% Cab Sauv, 4% Cab Franc, 3% Petit Verdot. The palate offers flavors of dark fruit, sour black cherry & dried blackberries, with a firm touch of oak & leather. Tannins are present, but soft due to the age of the wine. The finish is elegant with a slight dry mineral tang, medium in length. Very Nice. This Napa offering should last a few more years, but why wait, it’s perfect now! Tasting Sample! — 5 years ago
Probably opened this too soon, which is so unlike me😬
Curious how this will stack up against the Carter Hossfeld which is almost the same blend of Merlot & Cabernet.
Find out in a couple weeks when Carter ships
Same price & almost exactly same ratings from WA,

Perfectly aged #napavalley #cabernetsauvignon - The potential QPR stood out to me here on a wine list in downtown Napa. Bramble fruit balanced against softly earthy nose. Symmetrical acidity and fruit continues on palate, dreamy tannins on the finish. Excellent pairing with confit duck leg. — 2 years ago
