Full bodied, nice deep, dense colour. Subtle spice and more of a savoury flavour. Delicious — a year ago
Thomas Yule Shiraz. Big, jammy, Christmassy. — 4 years ago
First found this wine probably 11 years ago at the Annual Cape Mentelle Cabernet tasting where Cape Mentelle pits their wine against leading Cabernets from around the world including Bordeaux, Napa, NZ, and other Australians. On this occasion the 2008 vintage. This Houghtons stood out on the day. Dense in colour Barb said pitch black. Dusty cassis notes - oak is there but it doesn’t dominate - balanced and delicious. — a year ago
Clear, deep garnet colour. Clean, pronounced black fruit and cedar aromas. Dry, medium acidity and tannins that are very balanced. Medium bodied with long finish. Black fruits with hints of cassis, mocha and lovely oak flavours. An outstanding wine considering the price. Went very well with bbq rib eye. — 5 years ago
Still too early but potentially great Cabernet Sauvignon
Near black/deep purple hue a classic nose and clean palate with long lingering after taste with hints of cedar and tobacco infusion
Quite an elegant wine

Almost syrupy in consistancy, this has a rich passionfruit taste on the palate which matches its tropical aromas — 7 years ago
