Rosé and comfort food - heck yes! Growing up my mum made ‘sausage swirls’ which are pastry, sausage, potato and cheese swirls. And now they’re my go-to comfort food - however I add a jar of jalapeños 🌶 for a bit of a kick 🙌
I thought they’d be a great match to this bottle of Lansdowne 2019 Pinot Rosé which we were sent as a sample from Good Pair Days (thanks guys!).
Only a small quantity of this wine was made (177 cases in fact) due to extreme weather conditions that year.
If you want to give it a whirl, and/or try out the Good Pair Days experience, make sure to add the code “travellingcorkscrew” for a discount at the checkout 😉
I felt like I was watching the sunset 🌅 as the red-y orange like liquid was poured into my glass. On the nose it had me thinking about wild strawberries 🍓, tangerine and pink grapefruit. While in the mouth it’s smooth and hella delicious. Refreshing, comforting and bloody yum.
This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it. By using the above promo code I will receive a small amount of commission.
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!

$10. A steal!! — 6 years ago
Very Northern Rhone in style. Often read descriptions saying Bacon notes but rarely get it - definitely shows here along with some spice and pepper. 100% whole bunch wild yeast Fermentation. Medium intensity - savoury with soft black fruits. Does Steve Flamsteed ever make a bad wine - another great effort. Tasted again 172 weeks later on 18th February 2022 with similar notes and enjoyment. Tasted again 177 weeks later on 25th March 2022. Excellent Syrah in the northern Rhone style. Bacon and Charcuterie notes with spice and pepper. Cured meat - savoury and delicious. Won the Trevor Mast Trophy for best Shiraz at Royal Melbourne. Had another bottle 238 weeks later on 26th May 2023 with consistent notes. An absolutely brilliant Shiraz in the Northern Rhone style. Cured meats; savoury. I can see why it won best Shiraz at Royal Melbourne. — 6 years ago
Lush wet nose showing Saturday morning blueberry syrup. Jumps out of the glass. Wonderful nose! Ripe black fruit hits the tongue, candied walnut, soft mouthfeel with balanced tannins and cracked pepper round out the taste. Acidity is slightly high that causes the mouth to water over the ripe black fruit and smoke for a sustained finish. Well done @Rob Sinskey well done! 177 cases produced. — 8 years ago
