Strong earthy aromas. Nice balance of acidity and fruit. Smooth, but a little bite in the finish. — 3 months ago
Very nice, but had even higher expectations, perhaps unfairly. 2016 vintage — 4 years ago
Last winery on day two in Sonoma was Troika Wines with Jeff, Noel and Ari. Last white wine was their Towne Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc which comes from Calistoga.
Clear lemon yellow with a slight greenish hue. Lots of white peaches, some apricot, honeysuckle and gravel on the nose. Medium acidity (6.5/10) and light plus body. Fresh palate with a touch of sweetness and lots of stone fruits and a slightly creamy mouthfeel. Medium plus to long finish. Drink till 2022.
$$ - Tasted at the winery with Noel, Jeff and Ari. Release price is $28.00. — 7 years ago
Joseph Jewell Rosé of Pinot Noir 2019: Dry. Crisp. Refreshing. Gorgeous pink salmon color with a mouth-watering, fruity taste of strawberry, watermelon & grapefruit. No better way to celebrate California’s reopening (No mask requirement!) but with this perfectly balanced, small production Rosé of Pinot Noir! Cheers to pure summer in your glass & cheers to a new day🍷 — 4 years ago
This Napa (Calistoga) single-vineyard SauvBlanc has a nose that's dominated by fruit, primarily tropical and citrus. An apricot note shows early, but is overpowered by the ripeness of the California grapes. On the palate, there's no grassiness, but there is a slightly tart herbal aspect that shows up most notably on the finish. Acidity is bright and fresh, perfect for seafood and salads. It's boozy - 15.3% - but it doesn't come off that way. It's made by Stonum Vineyards, by the way. — 6 years ago
