Chateau has a long history in the Saint Estephe appellation, dating back the 18th century. Chateau built for Thomas Barton, AKA Chateau Leoville Barton, in 1955 it was purchased by the Dourthe group. Dark crimson with berry, spice and earthy aromas. On the palate rich flavors of layered berry fruits moving towards jammy, complex fine dry soft tannins needing more time, opened up after 45 minutes. Lingering finish, nice acidity and balance, nice, recommend decanting. — 9 years ago
Cork was nasty. Totally flat. Tastes like dusty closet toffee. Love it! A singular beer experience rivaled only by aged Thomas Hardy or JW Lees. — 10 years ago
Commissioned by Thomas Keller restaurant group with a dosage of 2g compared with the traditional Blanc de Blancs of ~8g. Definitely did not taste too austere given the lower dosage and was well balanced. Brioche, lemon peel, and stone with good acidity. — 10 years ago
2002 Conterno Monfortino Barolo. LACMA group lunch. Surprisingly approachable. JW thought it was a great expression in a terrible year. We decanted this for 30 min, but should have decanted longer. — 8 years ago
3L 1990 Gaja Sori Tilden Barbaresco. Big group lunch at The I while B&M Sh were visiting. So fun out of large format. As JW said- we shouldn't wait any longer to drink this and it's a perfect light, easy to drink lunchtime wine. Hah. — 10 years ago

Some good depth and flavor. Winner of a taste off against Spottswoode. High praise from the group — 8 months ago
