This is a classic! Decanted for 3 hrs. Clear watery hue, beautiful pale Garnett in the middle. Medium viscosity, medium alcohol. On the nose, red cherry, strawberries, flowers, spices - thyme, clove, wet cigar, wet leaves. On the palate, confirmed red cherries, strawberries and powerful/rigid but silky tannins and racy acidity to balance it all. Long earthy finish. Elegant yet tough...like a ballerina! Very well balanced and serious wine from a good producer. This is their entry level Barbaresco that punches above its weight for what it costs. Stocking up.. this will drink even better in 5 years. — 6 years ago
36 year old Palmer- smoky tobacco and cedar nose, delicate juicy fruit flavor, soft subtle tannins - a ballerina! Fabulous wine. — 7 years ago
Just as baffled as every time when stripping down a bottle of Miani; how the heck is this possible…!? ’15 Chardonnay; Big, bold and broad shouldered but with a vibrant and linear freshness to it, with its trade mark electric minerality, both on the nose and the palate. Hitting all the clusters with full power in complete balance thanks to the sharp and vibrant mineral backbone . The 14.5 (!) % abv is barely being noticed, more than acting as a supporting role in the unity by providing even further structure throughout the finish. A powerlifter that is out-dancing the ballerina. Rating is conservative... — 8 years ago
Beautiful. From legendary Thierry Germain. Ungrafted rootstocks planted on sandy topsoil. 12,5% abv. Dense yet weightless. Like ballerina performing a physically demanding solo yet evoking a sense of lightness and grace on the edge of your tongue. High acidity, soft chalky-type (drying) tannins, but juicy. — 2 years ago
Gorgeous, a young Sophia Loren, classic beauty with pure beam of cherry fruit mingled with dried herbs, olive, damp Earth and almost a subtle minty & licorice note. Just the right amount of juicy acidity & tannins - so cohesive & balance like a Ballerina. Need more of this type of Chianti Classico in my life. 3rd generation women wine makers. Owner was a ballerina and all wines are named for a pose. Natural wine. Lovely and tart. — 7 years ago
Ah! The prima ballerina of Rheinhessen. The precise footwork, elegant gait, and undeniable presence. Usually, she takes centre stage, but tonight, the queen of Nierstein has decided to make a forceful announcement during her grand performance - "I will dance instead, and you will love it!" :)
We thought that drinking the 17' Hipping first was a good idea. In hindsight, I'm not even sure why, especially given how the Abtserde was totally eclipsed by it. Nevertheless, the 14' Abtserde was still a great expression of riesling
For me, Absterde is usually the most filigreed and electric of KP's vineyards, but this time, it was showing a more breadth than the typically weightier Hipping. Very powerful with exotic fruits dominating, set on a backdrop of herbs and spice. Concentrated, but in the same vein as the 17' Hipping - new KP in my eyes. I can see why some would prefer KP's older vintages compared to this, which are seemingly more extracted. There's a mineral drive and acidity which really dances on the palate. Admittedly, this finishes a touch hot but nothing to detract from the sheer energy of this wine. It needs time to bring it more balance and finesse I feel. — 7 years ago
Dragonette is bae and don’t you forget it. It jumps into your mouth like a clutzy ballerina. You feel the elegance but this ballerina has some muscle. Some...pepper. Some spice. This ballerina would kick your ass with more training but in this iteration she’s still an elegant fluid being flowing into your mouth and tempting to beat you up but not quite. I love this dancer. Simply? A red cherry and black plum compote with a bunch of green herbs and black pepper and maybe the teensiest pinch of cinnamon and anise tossed together and puréed to their purest form. Elegance and brute force. Damn I love Dragonette. — 8 years ago

An immaculately golden color in the glass with vigorous perlage. At first the nose is resplendent with floral aromas. Just so, so very pretty. Freshly baked bread, lemon peel, and just the faintest hint of cinnamon. Stone fruit, mint, and rosemary to boot.
Pure Chardonnay from the four Grand Cru villages of Mesnil, Chouilly, Avize, and Cramant. Aged for up to five years on lees with a dosage of 8 g/l. Exquisite and as graceful as a ballerina, this is easily one of the best NV Blanc de Blancs around. Silky smooth but with tension and excitement for days.
Exceedingly pure and vibrant. Let it sit for a while and those gorgeous floral accents begin to fade and the fruit becomes more noticeable. Citrus and stone fruits with a touch of pepper. The finish is long and lovely. I could drink this every single day. — 3 years ago
Stunning color w/nary a sign of age: huge fog of spearmint & mineral on open. 2hrs lifted, hi-note dissipates to reveal copious black cherry, blackberry & plum pudding, chocolate, licorice, sweet freshly turned soil. Deep intense reservoir of flavors. Extraordinary density & concentration yet a real ballerina... thoroughly enjoyed this on a special day. Has miles to go tho — 5 years ago
Kirsebær, hindbær, lidt fad, tobak, skovbund. Fnuglet og ret elegant ballerina, trods årgangen. — 6 years ago
Was not sure what this was going to taste like as I never had one with this much age on it. An uncanny combination on the nose and palate of citrus and tropical fruit .A profile that overloads the senses. Imagine an elephant as a graceful ballerina . The palate is best described as three dimensional. The wine’s structure makes me feel this wine is in suspended animation and will drink well for a very long time. — 7 years ago
Oh hey! Leave it to @Paul Treadway Huntington Beacher Bum to get me into a Scotch. This is delectable. My usual quibble with scotch is the smoke and this one has a whisper of it but it only serves to ballast the vanilla, honey and...marmalade? Of the rest of this. Tried neat and on a big cube o’ ice in a chilled glass and definitely recommend the latter. It is an evenings worth of delicate sipping. A ballerina. A delicate scotch. I’m a fan. I eat my anti-scotch words this one is for me. — 8 years ago

Nice little ballerina on the pallet. For the PC crowd I mean there is a gender involved. — 8 years ago
I will start by saying I am prejudice when it comes to ‘98 M-C . Almost every wine they made that vintage has brought me happiness. This might be the best one yet. You name the fruit and this nose has it , papaya, orange, peaches and apricots. In the mouth it’s the definition of balance. Packed with huge flavors it is an elephant in ballerina slippers. Reverberates in your mouth! — 8 years ago

A clear ruby color in the glass with a deeper, darker core. A wide brim and sexy legs. A very provocative nose showcasing the customary Burgundy aromas of ripe cherries, cranberries, and grassy knoll. Violets and mild spice. Beautifully clean funk permeates from the glass and I can’t get enough of it.
Pataille’s range of wines obviously carry a lot of hype and they constantly hit the mark. Lovely, fresh, effervescent wines through and through. Ignore the simple Bourgogne designation because this too, is a cut above. Delightfully juicy with bright acidity, nice structure, and tons of personality to be found here.
This needs around 15-20 minutes of air before she really opens up. Once she does, you’ll find generous red fruits on the palate along with more earth. There’s certainly an ethereal quality to this wine. Like a ballerina, it sways to and fro, always leaving you excited and pleased. And wanting a little more. Have it. — 3 months ago
