Calafia

La Reina Estate Bottled Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

Interesting flavors and complexity which will only become better with time - 2015 vintage. Nice spice with amazing peppery nose. Dark blackberry fruit on palette. Soft but flavorful tannins on the finish. Great with BBQ, any red meat off smoker, or Spanish dish. Could be best in another 3-5 years. — 7 years ago

Castillo de Monte la Reina

Toro Tempranillo

I really like this. It goes so well with Spanish tapas - especially cheese and meats! Dry but the fruit lingers long afterwards — 8 years ago

Zorzal

La Reina Noelia Juri Sémillon 2021

Tasted blind. Medium lemon colour. Touch of reduction ? Gun flint , with some toasty notes , lemon peel . On the palate this appears quite structured , with some oak noticable , lemon peel , white peach, slightly buttery notes . Quite a lot of extract . Bit of alcohol noticable , touch of astringency. Ok medium length . This really opened up after a while and showed more Semillon character . Probably even better in a few years , more time for the oak to fully integrate . Will last well a further 5- 10 years or so. — 8 months ago

Tempranillo. A great baja wine. Fruity start that leads to a great earthy middle and ends with a tinge of peppery spice. — 7 years ago

Bodegas Vinsacro

Dioro Rioja Red Blend 2015

40% Vidau (the old field blend) plus 45% Tempranillo and 15% Mazuelo, from a slope in the south of the Monte Yerga called Cuesta la Reina, from a big, 120-hectare plot that has been with the Escudero family for generations. It's fermented with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel with a long maceration, matured in new French (70%) and American oak barrels for 18 months. this is a fun wine that crosses old world and new world. It’s got power, but it’s compact and not flabby. Needed some air to get moving — 8 years ago

Bodegas Reina de Castilla

Rueda Verdejo 2015

Bright pale greenish yellow color with intense aromas of papaya and passion fruit with herbal notes of fennel and sage; as well as a bit of beeswax. In the mouth is super fresh high acidity, that begins with tropical fruit and ends with a medium long herbal and mineral finish. 13.5% alcohol. Everything I want a Verdejo to be! — 7 years ago
