Ferrington Vineyard Pinot Noir 2013

Ming L
9.2

The nose is quite similar to the Londer Vineyard (Anderson Valley as well) bottling of the same 2013 vintage, with bouquet of blueberry, raspberry, steep red tea, vanilla, mushroom, and warm spices. Layered and supple, the palate is more savory on the palate than the nose suggests. Ripe candied tannins.
At its peak but should have staying power for another 2-3 years.

Londer Estate Pinot Noir 2006

Fragrant nose of pomegranates and spiced cherries. Ripe cherries with subtle oak on the palate. Paired especially well with pork roast. Smooth and satisfying. — 9 years ago

2013 is the last vintage of this single vineyard bottling.
Lovely bouquet of raspberry, cherry cola, steep red tea, licorice, mushroom, and light baking spice. Medium body and acidity. A bit leaner than I expected on the palate. Good texture. Resolved tannins.

Corby Vineyards Chardonnay 2008

This is the kind of Chardonnay that I love...bright acidity, just enough oak to give creaminess, and malo that doesn't go overboard. Color is golden and slightly amber. Nose has white pepper, apricot, and overripe meyer lemon. Palate is rich and hedonistically creamy with balance and a very long finish. There's just a touch of butterscotch starting to peek out. This is a lovely wine. — 10 years ago

Londer Vineyard Pinot Noir 2010

Basically a perfect Pinot as far as I’m concerned…served with thanksgiving…nose is unbelievable, austere (11yrs), deep dark fruit, awesome — 3 years ago

Foursight Paraboll Anderson Valley Pinot Noir 2005

For those of you unsure about the longevity of Ca pinots I offer this 2005 Londer as proof positive that they are going strong at 12 years old. And it's a little weird to be drinking my last bottle from a winery that no longer exists. Ah, the new world ;). I've had Londers over many years and this one hues to their well known profile as a med bodied red/dark fruit juice with a notable spicy element. It's still juicy enough to be refreshing. I'd call it a classic nouveau Mendocino Ca Pinot. I'm already missing this distinctive Larry and Shirley wine that set a standard for early 21st century Ca Pinot. — 8 years ago
