2020 vintage from Cantina Produttori Terlano in south Tirol in Alto Adige.
This is a coop founded 1893 with 143 growers and 165 hectares in the Dolomites Mountains in the foothills of the Alps.
Nose of pears, Macintosh apples, almonds and wild herbs.
Elegant flavours of ripe melon, peach, apples with minerality and balanced acidity.
In the foreground of the picture is Albacore tuna caught by my friend Fraser 200 km north off the coast of Vancouver Island in September..
That Albacore tuna was smoked by my friend Masa in North Vancouver.
This Pinot Grigio is fantastic with the smoked Albacore tuna.

2018 vintage. 63 Vermentino 25 Muscat 12 Malvasia pétillant naturel. Fresh and, thankfully, not as explosive upon opening as some pet-nats can be. Green pear, apple flesh, a little masa/corniness that becomes more dominant as it warms, light while floral notes. Effervescense is relatively light and mild cloudiness. — 7 years ago

Celebrating the hike up to La Chappelle the only way I know how. Subtle yet extremely inviting nose, marzipan, fresh sweet cream, fresh masa/corn husk, green almond, white flowers, quince, yellow peach, baked pear, marshmallow, granite (go figure), radish. Found the oak subtle, and while leesy its really layered in nicely. Great interplay of Marsanne bass and Roussane treble. I could see this being really fun in 10 years but its so lovely now, open knit and fresh. — 8 years ago
sacre bleu, moldova at last!
a winner, 12 months barriqued, at least 60 mins breathing before indulging. — 8 years ago
Bags of raspberry both in the nose and on the palate. Off dry with enveloping sweetness on approach, with slight minerality which may bother some, alcohol slightly jumpy towards the end with a bit too much acidity on exit. — 10 years ago
Amazing wine. Dry and peppery. — 6 years ago

A fav producer that I unfortunately don’t experience enough. Beautiful Bourgogne blanc, ample fruit and succulent, underpinnings of mineral and earth without being too contemplative. The class comes through on the clarity of the fruit and deft hand with cooperage. Ripe green apples, white peach, melon, meyer lemon peel, apple blossom, masa, nuts, kiss of honey and white rocks. Spot on! — 7 years ago
Good full-bodied wine with complex flavour — 8 years ago
Mon cheri, coffee, kielbasa, blueberry jam, overripe black plum, masa, leather, tobacco, fermented musty grape skin & seed, grippy rough tannin. Needs food (and another 10 years..). Mightve called new world on this blind. 15%. Full body, m+ acid, long finish. — 9 years ago
Pronounced salinity, slight ripe green pepper, pineapple, lemon flesh, white flowers, mango papaya, ripe yellow peach, slight masa on palate, high acid, m+ ph bitt, LONG finish. AMAZING!!!! — 10 years ago
