Preserved lemon creeps up through the white White Cliffs of Dover, where the rich white minerality seeps in and accompanies your two dozen oysters with gusto. If this smells like oyster shell because I told you it tastes like oyster shells? You’re right. You don’t? Ok we’re done. If you don’t like it? Great, you’ll save a whole bunch of money. Best drunk at a minimum of 10 years aged so this one is splendid. — 9 years ago

Take us to Corsica!!
We’re prepping for an upcoming class with this beauty, which comes from the southern tip of Corsica (the most southerly wine region of France 🇫🇷 ); an appellation called Corse Figari AOC.
The vineyards are farmed biodynamically (certified since 2006) and are situated on a plateau at the base of the Omu di Cagna mountain ⛰️, not far from dramatic Bonifacio cliffs rising up from the azure blue waters of the Mediterranean.
It’s made with Vermentinu (aka Rolle or Vermentino) by Clos Canarelli, devoted to producing high quality terroir-driven wines made with indigenous varieties.
This wine offers a bouquet of lemon and orange peel, white peach, crisp green apple, just-ripe pineapple, honeydew, citrus blossom, elderflower, crushed stone, arugula, and custard.
It is both vibrant and rich with a creamy mouthfeel and layered complexity. It’s absolutely delicious and we cannot wait to share it next month. — 3 years ago

On the nose - black cherry, burnished slightly, emerges through a mystic hint of dark herb and soupçon of burnt orange. Elegantly smooth. Rounded warm mouth feel. with delicate thought of cassis. Uplifted finish. Contemplative. — 8 years ago
Straight soil & soul. The waves of terroir on this cuvée will not escape you::::it is relentless in its expression: hence the note on the bottle :: Expression Originale du Terroir. Very little fruit out the gate...dry...maybe something very dark and deep...minerality then soil and deeper and deeper. It has a mystic aura, ethereal. I can honestly say I've never tasted anything remotely like it. — 9 years ago
Lean, minerally, but still nice complexity / rond en bûche -- The Oyster Club, Mystic — 9 years ago
Dark sweet cherries, spicy vanilla incense, slightly smoky on the finish. — 9 years ago
She catches the eye slim with dreamy curves, darkly dressed complimented by earth-toned loosely falling ribbons. Gripping her firmly with one hand sliding finding her neck the other slowly pulling her upward she opens wet and her pale gold to yellow juice easily pours lightly, rhythmically dancing, ebbing and flowing revealing a subtle essence of ripe peach and flower petals against moist grass and wet stone, then she lunges spilling across your lips leisurely coating your mouth front to back with an orange essence her tannins gently grip, then she slowly slips on and away, "into the mystic..." and you wonder , will she come again...?
PS: particularly good with fresh whole slightly crispy sardines, cherry tomatoes and chilled organic cucumber all sprinkled with hot Hungarian paprika... — 10 years ago
This is the wrong description- it’s actually a blend. A very tasty, easy drinking white. — 3 years ago
You can count on consistently solid Syrahs from Cascade Cliffs. Super fruit forward with a bit of a bite. Think this will be great with laying down for a few years. Really like it! Old world element. — 5 years ago

From what I understand after translation, this blend’s contents were produced between Riomaggiore and Volastra (of and around Cinque Terre). In my travels through Italy this past summer, I actually had the chance to visit Riomaggiore. In this seaside town of Cinque Terre, I learned that the wines produced there are very hardy. Not only are the majority of these Cinque Terre vineyards constructed into the side of the cliffs/mountains/hills (whatever you’d like to label them, they’re featured on the bottle), they are also mere meters from the sea in some cases. I remember one of the local ladies of one of the five seaside towns telling me of one vineyard (can’t remember which one, probablyyy had too much wine that day) that was only 60 meters away from the surf. With this info in mind, you know that salt water will be absorbed through the grape vines, influencing the grapes’ taste. This results in a very light, delicate brine. It almost reminds me of a sea urchin, and on a lighter note, Haruno’s seaweed salad. 😂 I really dig this wine. A very translucent gold, almost a straw. Definitely let this one warm up a tad, from drinking it completely chilled to room temp, it’s an amazing change. Definitely prefer it after some warmth has reached it. And can we talk about how amazing it is that this wine had the chance to come to the US from like 5,000 miles away where the populations probably don’t exceed a couple of thousand people—and a select few of those choosing to devote their entire lives to cultivating these grape vines? Cheers to finally getting off work 🍻#cinqueterre #manarola #riomaggiore #wine #winetasting #photooftheday #instagood #italy #blend #white #travel #love #bisson #rosenthalwines — 8 years ago

Absolute fan of this producer. These are wine of place! Where mountainside cliffs meet the sea and the vines on the cliffs are kissed by the mist of the Cantabrian sea. Their wines have a natural light effervescence a touch of salinity. — 5 months ago
