Great Bordeaux blend: red berries, wet leaves, earth, spice and oak. Balanced. — 4 years ago
Wine and cheese. Good with EVOO and Havarti and Manchego. Just ok with Gruyère . — 2 years ago
Okay, no one is confusing this with a Chateau Margeaux, but that's only because it lacks the really deep complexity. And many other ways, it has the rich depth and smooth tannins and even some of the aromas of the real thing. Lovely one. — 4 years ago
Wonderful Syrah ($50) with Pat’s Beef Stroganoff. — 4 years ago
Great vintage for Malescasse. Very primal and coarse, showing a rough outer shell of earth, coffee and barrel char notes. There’s a nicely concentrated core of dark fruit and licorice that takes time to expose. Tannins are chewy but ripe. This will be great in a few years. Love the power and intensity here. Pairing with salmon ceviche and it worked. Very elegant sauv blanc with that passion fruit element. — a year ago
