Family party, so truncated notes. This is very unique. Nose has bright sugar plums (yes), and a resinous warm caramel note. Rich, sweet, but balanced with nice acids, it finishes long and pure. 2024/7/20-21. Aromatically this starts out pretty brown - lots of toasted spice and earth. With air it does show flashes of the deep, smoky cherry one might expect, and it’s still very enjoyable, but I can’t help wonder if this bottle (which I bought on sale) might have been a little worse for wear.
