Green tinged color. Rich, expansive, bold champagne. A bit over the top but quite good still — 6 years ago

@Delectable Wine : This is a new producer, Domaine Les Monts Fournois, and the cuvée is the “Cote” Cramant Grand Cru.
Had the opportunity to purchase a bottle from this new producer. For context, Juliette had the mentorship of her close cousins, Raphaël and Vincent Bérêche, when beginning this project. Her previous experience was with producers like Louis Latour, G.D. Vajra and Louis Roederer Champagne.
Consumed half from bottle over the course of two hours, then corked and consumed the rest later in the evening.
2015 was the first vintage, so this is second release. Would have loved to try this side by side with Bereche’s Cramant offering. Naturally I wanted to find a Bereche vibe to this, yet this was mostly its own style. For the first half, this was fairly gnarly. Not ripping acid, but not for the faint of heart either. Bright lemon zest, sea spray, faint orchard fruit, and white flowers. As it warms, it’s expansive and powerful on the palate. Limestone, minerals, lemon confit too. When I revisited later in the evening after setting aside for a few hours, it channeled a Bereche flair with a deeper/more rich mid-palate with gold/yellow fruit, and spiced cider. Very intriguing. Obviously young, this producer is worth following. — a year ago
Such great value! While I feel doesn't have the Bereche typicity, it's so elegant and poised. Fruiter, more powerful, less mineral, but bolstered by racy acidity.
I think Vinous nails my tasting notes, so I'm just gonna leave that here:
"The 2008 Côte Premier Cru, a blend of 80% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Noir from Vertus, is striking. Translucent and expressive, the 2008 captures a gorgeous, crystalline expression of Vertus Chardonnay, with a little added body and texture from the Pinot. Sweet floral and honeyed notes wrap around the expressive, precise finish. There is a lot to like here. Dosage is 6 grams/liter." — 6 years ago
Rich, sumptuous Champagne, quite yeasty and great with buttery French hors d'oeuvres. — 7 years ago
Youthful intervention from Vincent and Raphael Bereche results in one of the best bottles of Champagne I’ve opened at home.
Distinct and zippy. Solera style perpetual blending (dating to my birth year - 1985) contributes color, depth, and richness.
There is fresh bread from lees aging, but this wine is driven by red fruit. Severely underpriced, I grabbed as much as I could. — 6 years ago
Acidic, but a ton of flavor. Green apple. Very fresh. — 7 years ago
