First take: it’s a bit muddled and flabby….lacking crisp structure. It is young so I will test on day two. Day 2.5: impressively, air has brought this one to life! Clarity and articulation are now present. The character profile is still medium+ weighted fresh red/black cherry with a delicate green herby frame. What improved - the focus and clarity of the acidity. It broadened, thus mouthfeel improved. — 3 years ago
A very earthy red! Deep red, lots of tobacco, dried herbs, wet moss. A good recommendation that I would revisit. — 4 years ago

Soooo balanced and fresh - considering it was 11 full years from vintage… Fabulous wine making from an average regular vintage — 39 cs, 35 Merlot, 17 cf, 9 pv — 8 months ago
Red berry, humid summer forest, hints of old leather jacket and hard candies on the nose. Plum, raspberry, tart cherry, notes of vanilla, soft puckering tannins lingering with juicy cranberry on the finish. Nice red for Virginia. Went well with pizza. — 4 years ago

Signature smells of bright and fresh raspberry, cherry, and plum, with bramble, notes of bell pepper and mint, hints of baker's vanilla, cinnamon and clove, and faint whiffs of warm tires and fallen wet leaves. On the palate fresh but richer red fruit of cherry, cranberry, and raspberry, hints of asparagus, with a medium mouthfeel and medium-length finish. The 13.8% alcohol gave the body some weight but was a tad strong for the bright red fruit profile. Overall this is a balanced Loire-style Cab Franc. Went great with my portobello caps with homemade porcini-morel gravy; food and wine really brought out the spice flavors of each other. — 3 years ago

Enjoyable drinking wine. Lovely yellow color, sweet taste at first finishes semi-dry. Great wine to drink on the patio with friends and charcuterie board. — a month ago
