Excellent wine.
Would have never guessed it was 25 years old.
After some time in decanter and in the glass - it began to show some tertiary and real balsamic notes
But this wine really paired well with risotto. It cut the richness without overpowering and provided some solid fruit and tannin
There is both some power and elegance in this wine that works quite well — 3 months ago
Fresh red berry notes, fruit-forward quality. Rustic earthy with hints of herb. Bright, lively acidity. Refreshing and easy to sip. It was great with light pasta! — 5 months ago
— 6 months ago

Rustic. Liked but weird note. — 3 years ago
Perfumed and full of cherries. Fresh and well built with a stingy attack and more rounded mature finish. — 5 years ago
Nose: Dark fruit aromas lead the way with notes of black cherry, ripe plum, licorice, and subtle spice.
Palate: Big and bold with vibrant acidity and firm tannic structure. Layers of cherry and dark fruit carry through a long, persistent finish. Very well rounded with impressive depth and balance.
Overall: Structured yet approachable. Shows strong aging potential and should evolve nicely over the coming years. — 2 months ago

Drank very nicely. Elegant wine with a light-medium palate. — 6 months ago
Hint of peppermint on the nose rolls back to reveal wormwood and roses, chocolate ganache, rhubarb, and dried grapefruit peel. Velvety and complex, with peppercorn, red apple peel, cinnamon dust, dried rose petal, dried violet, and roobios tea.

The 2021 Mazèr Valtellina Superiore DOCG 2021 from Valtellina pours a bright garnet and opens with lifted aromas of red currant, cranberry, rhubarb, and orange peel layered with subtle notes of anise, cedar, and alpine herbs. On the palate it’s medium-bodied and elegant, with lively acidity and firm, chalky tannins that frame flavors of tart red berries, licorice, and a touch of earth and spice. The finish is savory and mineral-driven, showing the cool alpine character of 100% Nebbiolo (locally called Chiavennasca) with a clean, persistent structure that should continue to evolve nicely over the next several years. 🍷 — 4 months ago
