Sweetly pungent nose! Raw and unfiltered - ready for rough and raucous food pairings! Thinking bratwurst with sauerkraut and caramelized onions. And light grilled meats like Greek gyros with tzaziki sauce. Big phenolics here, will delightfully challenge some char. Looooong finish to match those huge aromatics! — 4 years ago
Big! Phil says "rough and ready". Big and fruity. Mineral base. May mellow out with time.
Edit: Still pretty fruity! Quaffable though. — 7 years ago
06' Entre Nous Cabernet. 1st vintage. I know the more recent vintages have been predominately a cab base blend. I'm guessing this 06' is very close, if not 100% Cab. That's just a guess :)
A very rare treat indeed. An old world nose with a touch of violets. On the palate I get plum, ripened cherry, leather, mocha. Nice lingering finish. The acidity/ tannins of this sensational wine are still prominent. That's telling me this bottle will drink nicely for another 7/10 years. Elegant, big & bold... at the same time. All the rough edges have dissipated. It's ready to enjoy now. I wish I had another bottle of the 06'.
Can't help but notice that Philippe Melka first name is spelled differently on a multitude of articles/websites??? — 8 years ago

Worth the wait. It did not disappoint! Seems to be a wine many keep waiting for and I was hesitant to rush on this but couldn’t resist any longer. I thought it was fantastic. No rough edges to be found. I think this baby is more than ready to be enjoyed! Currants, earth notes, and subtle mature fruit. Consumed over about 5.5 hours and decanted in a magnum decanter. It was very good in the first hour and fantastic by the fourth where I personally think it peaked. Thankfully, I have one more bottle for the future! — 4 years ago
2009, not ready yet, too sour, body isn't strong enough to balance out, rough mud at end... so that was hour 1, hour 2, much better balance, some sourness and tannin but candy aroma of maraschino cherry — 8 years ago
2022/8/28-30. I understand this contains at least some amount of Pinot Beurot. This starts out reminiscent of bruised apple cider - there’s a bit of a burnished, earthy, oxidative note. There’s plenty of intensity and personality, but for a while it seems a little rough and ready. It’s only on the second day, towards the end, and at a higher temperature than you’d think would work, that more elegance, minerality and depth are revealed. Fascinating. — 2 years ago
Imagine your licking a rough wet stone wall with rivulets flowing down at random. This vintage would pair with that vision. Rough. Wet. Random. Be ready for a happy roughed up tongue.. — 6 years ago
A good supertuscan, good Bordeaux blend but with the rough-and-ready leather of Sangiovese wrapping it all up. 09 needs another 5 years or so to really allow acid to settle down and fruit to open up but is still a lovely drink now. Enjoyed very much with grouse, and even more so wth wild boar ragú. — 8 years ago
