This was a recent arrival so from a fresh batch serial L1815701. Beautiful and made in a slightly richer and more oxidative leaning style, but I dare say after 2 bottles out of this case those classic Bolli characteristics are dialed back just a little bit. The bright green apple and floral notes come through more and the chardonnay seems more prominent. All could be because these are younger bottles but it’s absolutely delicious as always. — 5 years ago

The label doesn’t say Tempranillo, just select red grapes. Was OK with our Thai dinner at a neighborhood restaurant. €13.50 on the wine list. The restaurant called it their “house wine”. I think the vintage is 2020 as that date is noted on a special Rioja sticker that has a serial number. — 2 years ago

2000 vintage drunk at Clos du Mesnil. Serial no 0025. 0.68ha for this Clos du Ambonnay. Light golden hue. Ripe Apple peel. Little closed. On the palate, nutty, round and ripe. This is rich, but angular. Creamy but not fat. Slightly iodine. Broad finish. Very long. NB: when the wine warms up, the aromas come alive - beefy and Maron Glacé. — 10 years ago
Okay, its time to give Wine Spectator an evaluation on their wine rating ability according to my palate. This is rated at 90 by them. It is a Spanish wine called Campo Viejo Reserva 2010 Rioja blend of Tempranillo 85%|Graciano 10%| Mazuelo 5%. The bottle has a serial number and is signed by the wine maker himself. And did I mention it is cheap - $12.00!!!!! I am going to say right off the front, you have to try this if you have a similar palate to mine. Im trying rate this wine but I keep having another glass!!!!!! Okay, the color is darker than a pinot noir and lighter than a cabernet. The bouquet is passion fruit and flamboyant roses! The initial palate delivers a slightly tangy cherry tart beginning followed with a pepper and oak finish that lingers to a dry finish. The tannins are soft as described on the bottle. It is very similar to a big pinot noir with a kick into the cabernet level. Its also only 13.5%!!!!! I am buying a case of this tomorrow! This is the best Spanish wine I have ever had! WOW. Wine Spectator, I think you under rated this one! Im giving it a 9.8 meaning when I see it, I drink it. Cheers!
