This bold wine is quite dark in the glass and it offers up a nose of black raspberries, cedar, clove, vanilla and a hint of mint. On the palate, it’s brawny. Big notes of dark fruit mingle with those oak spices in a way that’s both fruity and savory. The tannic structure is toothy, so this wine wants a steak. — 2 years ago

Another great red out of Spicewood Vineyards of the TX Hill Country! — a year ago
This pink wine is quite rich in color. Its hue is a cross between salmon orange and copper, looking very much like roses. The nose is a blast of strawberries, green parts and all, with an earthy herbal streak and a line of black pepper. On the palate, the brash rosé comes on like a red wine, with tons of flavor and a refreshing acidity. This wine’s pairing ability can reach from salads’n’seafood territory into pork chops, burgers and cheese plates. — 2 years ago
