The 2018 Stein St. Aldegunder Palmberg-Terrassen Riesling Spätlese Trocken is like a bomb waiting to explode, showing both rich yet tense, and with a level of fruit extract that coats the senses while zesty acids tug at the cheeks. Smoky minerals, ripe pear, sweet florals and hints of kiwi can be found in the glass, seeming sweet at times but then poised and precise. It’s a wine of pleasure and contrasts, making it very difficult to put this glass down. — 4 years ago
