Absolutely stellar. Showing maturity with some sweetness and spiciness, but still bright and fruity, the best Barolo by far I’ve had this year. Happy accident of timing the age perfectly. Kept overnight, a little weaker day 2 but still top notch. — 4 years ago

I opened this 2012 Chateau Pontet-Canet last night and it was stellar. The Pontet-Canet is a 5th growth classification that hits way above that tier. The estate of Pontet-Canet is located in the northern end of the Pauillac commune, across the road from Chateau Mouton Rothschild. The grape variety is a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. I describe this one as a restrained elegant beauty. @55Seventy — 2 years ago

The 2019 La Conseillante was stellar from the sample sent to "Martin Towers" in spring 2020, and the news is that there is no change in bottle. Allowed to open while gossiping away with winemaker Marielle Cazaux (you have to catch up when you are unable to see people regularly), the 2019 unveils an awesome, extraordinarily pure bouquet that seduces the senses, featuring dark cherries, blueberry, pressed violet and a touch of blood orange, all displaying wonderful delineation. The palate is medium-bodied and cohesive, with fine-grained tannins and a judicious touch of black pepper toward the finish, which fans out gloriously while maintaining a sense of class. The best La Conseillante since the 2010? No - better. (Neal Martin, Vinous, February 2022)

En mag - what a stunner - 78% Cab - 11% CF - 6% Merlot and the rest PV - celebrating my lovely wife’s birthday - picked some nice wines to celebrate- this wine from Pritchard Hill made by Mondavi continues unabated - This is a beautiful vintage with a dense bluish/purple color and a beautiful nose of blueberries, violets, a touch of licorice, truffle and background oak - full-bodied with incredible sweet and well-integrated tannins - loads of forest floor cedar and spices - complex, Bordeaux-styled that is amazing approachable and sassy - big bold and ostentatious - this will cellar for decades but why as this is a stellar wine now - this is my 1700th wine — 4 years ago

Recent notes suggested this wine was declining and the fruit fading.This was cause for concern as have a few of these I’ve been patiently cellaring. Well, I’m very happy to report this bottle, a Martine’s import, was stellar. To my palate, the wine is in a perfect place. Tertiary aromas and flavors dominate. Very complex aromas of sous bois, herbs de provence, wet saddle and red fruits. The palate is vivid and lively. Extraordinary depth and length that never faded. I can’t say enough great things about this wine. There’s no chance this bottle was fading or won’t last several more years. I don’t think it can improve as it’s almost perfection right now.
