@Todd Abrams this is a stud. Probably committed wineacide. Still many years ahead. Thanks brother!! — 6 years ago
A sort of apricot forward, light frizzy marmalade herb, rosemary, mint bouquet. It’s subtle and almost graceful like a swan’s dance on the surface of water.
Love, love the unapologetic nature of the bubbles and effervescence. It’s the grand entrance to the ballroom. The backless gown that says I’m here because this party would not exist without me, or at least it would not be as great or fun or story-worthy. These are the jeans that are too tight, the pocket square that doesn’t match, the polka dot socks, the nose stud on the guy that’s got the best suit in the house, and just makes the whole damn thing work.
Drink it. Love it. Tell everyone.
Peach soda, light to medium body, umami and the tart sweetness of a ripe mango. Every magnetic sip bursting with pure discovery and, most of all, the thing people forget in high culture, regular old fun. — 4 years ago
Really a beautiful merlot, great fruit and very approachable. Another great wine for Charles Smith. He is a stud! — 5 years ago
Way too soon for this stud of a wine, but I needed to compare it side by side with Cristal 08. Big, bold, in your face... lots of structure and acidity... notes of Apple core and lemon pith...best Dom I’ve had... but only showing glimpses of future glory. Sharing lots of nuance and notes with the Cristal... on this day the brooding power of the Dom came across a bit more dumb and slumbering. Patience required! — 6 years ago
Astounding amount of fruit for its age and it was still drinking well 90 minutes post pop. An enduring stud from @David L that was truly impressive. Not impressive in a “damn good for a 50 year old wine” way but just plain damn good. Resolved tannins, minimal bricking, palpable nose of violets, flavors of garrigue, bay leaf and bruised plum covered in damp earth. — 6 years ago
