Hundred Acre Vineyard

Deep Time Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

Deep Time makes all the difference! Longer time in the barrel, in the caves, treated like your first born by Jayson and Co. Amazing! Hard to beat by anyone. — 10 days ago

Few and Far Between Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

15.5% alcohol… Very big, high in tannin and dry. Almost didn’t taste like a new world wine. — a month ago

Too young?

That’s actually exactly what I said when I had it yesterday. It definitely tasted young.

Hundred Acre Vineyard

Fortification Cabernet Sauvignon 2008

On the palate the wine is decadent and opulent at the same time. There’s dark chocolate, blueberry compote, sweetwood, with backbone acidity. The finish persists, and persists some more, reminiscent of raisin and dry fig. This fortified wine is from hundred percent Napa Cab, from the stellar 2008 vintage, from single vineyard site, and rated 95-99 points by renowned critics. Jayson Woodbridge made the wine in a Port style pushing the boundaries of conformity. That alone deserves praise but I can’t help considering it a cellar trophy… There to be admired and talked about but ready to deliver pure hedonism the moment it is poured.

Fortunate Son "The Diplomat" Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2018

Almost 3 years since my last bottle of this and my notes are very different. Thought this would be drinking well now but it’s still tight on open. Bright ruby colored, big red cherry and tobacco nose. Red fruit, earthy, tight. — 25 days ago

Kayli Morgan Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2007

Double decant and pour(little fine sediment). A striking dark magenta color with some bricking. On the nose: dark fruit, herbaceous, worn leather, touch of stewed meat, sweet vanilla toast. Taste: silky, rich, nice depth wine with dark cherry/plum, soil, crushed gravel, dried herbs, smoke, and a peppery chocolate espresso medium plus finish. YUM!!! — 2 months ago

Fortunate Son "The Dreamer" Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

The pro ratings got it right. A good wine that adds a lot to dinner. Not an elite wine, but it’s not trying to be. — a month ago

Château Latour

Premier Grand Cru Classé Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 1983

Château Latour is an iconic estate in the Pauillac commune on the left bank of Bordeaux, achieving coveted ‘First Growth’ status in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification.

The estate has roots dating back to the 14th century and derives its name ‘La Tour’ from a fortress tower built during the Hundred Years’ War, which no longer exists but is prominently featured on the label in recognition of its history.

We weren’t sure what to expect, as many have predicted these 1983s are likely past their prime, but this wine was a masterpiece. 🤩

It was medium garnet in color with expressive notes of cedar box, cigar, clove, peat, leather, forest floor, fig, prune, dried black cherry, plum, cassis, blackberry compote, cardamom, cinnamon, star anise, dried violet, potpourri, kalamata olive, pencil shavings, graphite, & bacon fat.

It had the most velvety, fine-grained tannins that washed across the palate with ease, with a gentle but notable acidity that maintained lift and balance. It was concentrated, complex, and had a long, elegant finish.
