Hundred Acre Vineyard
Kayli Morgan Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
100 Pointer from Parker. Perfectly aged and a beauty. So freaking delicious. The company was even better.

Apr 7th, 2014+1 hour decant(decent fine/cloudy sediment). A staggering dark purplish magenta color with very little bricking. On the nose: very aromatic notes of plum, mint, creme de cassis, rich soil, cinnamon, and graphite. Taste: smooth, creamy, liquid silk coats the mouth wine with black cherry, cedar, pepper, crushed gravel, and a chocolate espresso medium plus finish with a touch of heat. YUM!! Delicious...one of the more restrained HA I have had. Have been breaking out the 07s at age 15. More to come.

Oct 7th, 2022Totally not my style of wine but I can appreciate some nuances to this bazooka of a wine. There was a strong saline note that added complexity to the bludgeoning of the palate with oak and fruit, but saline isn’t the note I look for in a Cabernet - for a great bubbly sure, but not in a red wine. This is a humongous wine that Napa cab lovers will probably enjoy, but I prefer wines that don’t have this much heat and drink like an ultra heavy IPA. For this price point, I could also drink a 100 point first growth BDX and enjoy it far more. Again, it’s my preference but there was some complexity to be found.
