Didn’t love as much as others. Might skip next time just cause so many others are so good. Could be needs more age. — 7 hours ago

Old Vine Russian River Valley Zinfandel 2021

This wine was a fabulous surprise! Paired with a humble but comforting meatloaf, its warm spices were a perfect complement. This wine has bright fruits and a lively tension: it’s restrained and utterly delightful. — 9 months ago

12/2023. What a great Zin. Full of flavor and sits so well on the palate. I’m told there are only two acres of vines producing grapes for this wine — 10 months ago

PnP’d. Lovely Pinot for someone who isn’t a huge Pinot fan. Earthy with varied fruit and lots of complexity. Medium plus depth. Old World style. Good cigar wine. — 2 years ago

Drinking it too early, but excellent blend from an old vineyard. — 2 months ago

Nice notes on the nose, definitely appreciating Napa, with a little bite on the front end. Smooth and just enough juice on the back end. Might make a hood home cooking wine. . — 3 months ago

Moss Wood

Moss Wood Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2007

See previous notes on July 2018 and October 2021. This is maturity nicely. Keith Mugford, the owner and winemaker said on release “It will take at least 10 years to develop some bottle age characters and will probably reach its peak somewhere around 20 years old. However it should continue to be drinkable up to 30 years old, at least and especially for those bottles under screw cap.” (Which this was). Showing cassis, mulberry, cedar and a little tobacco. Mouth filling and delicious. Rich and sweet - could be described as a Shiraz lover’s Cabernet. Great persistence - smooth and slippery tannins. A very good vintage in Margaret River. I have 3 left - next one in late 2026 or 2027 when 20 years old. I also have a Magnum which should not be touched until at least 25 years of age. — 10 months ago
