If I had rated this one the night I opened it, I would have given it a slightly lower score. At first, I caught aromas of leather and meat drippings and flavors of sundried tomatoes. A couple of nights later, the wine had opened up nicely and had more floral and spice aromas and flavors of red berries and earth. Needless to say, an interesting wine, indeed. And from the Canary Islands! Huh. 90% Listan Negro, 10% Castellana Negra. 9/1/22. — 3 years ago
this is so so good for the price point. ripe red fruit, with enough tannin to stand up to a piece of meat. this was the perfect red for a charcuterie plate on a cool night. — 5 years ago

Interesting Canary Island Red Blend (90% Listan Negro and 10% Tintilla) from seven different sites in the Valle de la Orotava. Bright red fruit aromas and flavors. A bit of Brett and purple flowers on the nose. (Smelled like a Rhone Red). Hint of smoke on the finish. Expressive and fresh. Light bodied and juicy. — 4 years ago
Delicate and delicious. A little flowery, a little spicy, grippy. Nice. — 3 years ago
Grape: tintilla; taste: white spice, ripe fruit; feel: round and medium. Good all around wine, would be a crowd pleaser. — 3 years ago

I generally like canary island reds ie listan negro quite a bit. This one veered a bit too austere for me. Some nice refined dark fruit and a lot of peppery herbs. Mouthfeel and finish are slightly thin, but the acid is certainly there and this still feels complete and well made. Just not quite giving enough. — a month ago
