Still awesome! — 8 years ago
This historic Napa vineyard was first farmed by the Varozza family since 1913. The Zinfandel shows an intriguing translucence and starts off with cigar ash, cranberry, cherry, coffee ground and wild blackberry pie aromatics. The purity of fruit is stunning, as is the seamless texture, as milk chocolate, crushed mint, black cherry cordial and roasted date flavors all impress. This stunning bottling is truly one of the best in California. Drink 2019-2029- 95 — 6 years ago
Varozza consistently makes what I consider to be some of the very best red wines anywhere in Napa. The 2012 BloodLine, a blend of 66% Cab Sauv and 33% Petite Sirah, all estate, is truly an accomplishment on the respective parts of grower Jack Varozza and winemaker Kristy Melton. Big and bold yet elegant and easy-drinking, this wine, in my mind, represents the very best of red blends from the storied Napa Valley. Cheers! — 8 years ago
Hello cloves and white pepper! Still a very approachable wine regardless of intense spice elements. Red licorice and cinnamon presents on the palette. Age for 5-7 years. #napazinfandel #napavalley2015 #zinfandel — 6 years ago
