Webster Cellars

Château Malescasse

Cru Bourgeois Haut-Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend 2015

Girl computer Cru Bourgeois. You guys. Get into the Cru Bourgeois it doesn’t mean you are bougie (which Merriam-Webster just decided to include in their dictionary so if you don’t know what I mean...look it up), it just means you have high standards and a way with bargains. Consummate old world. It’s all like hi I’m all dark berries and black currant and violets and we’ve been having a party with our buddy tar but hidden in a pencil box because we are supes into graphite. Fuck this ink nonsense we like stones and lead. This wine is badass but it really would like some food too methinks. Earth and cassis. I’d very much like a mushroom pizza on the side. — 6 years ago

Hollywood & Vine Cellars

2480 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

“Swan Song” vintage for 2480 Hollywood & Vine Cellars. Winery closed & last vintage 2015 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Was introduced to wine by Rick Webster -Owner Rolf’s Wines Newport Beach with the 2002 Vintage. He stated at the time in 2004 that the 2480 H&V CS was the best wine in his store under $100! Celia Welch got some of the Old Vines Block of the JJ Cohn in 2002! Bought it for many years many vintages @ $82. QPR! Sad to see it go! Cheers 🍇🍷👍🏻👏🏻 — 2 years ago

Anthill Farms

Comptche Ridge Vineyard Pinot Noir 2009

This Anthill is well extracted. Too much for how I like my Pinot’s. It is also has a slight alcohol burn in the back of my throat which; I & other professionals consider a fault in wine. It’s like Oregon fruit & florals meet the over-extraction of Bella Glos. That aside, there are some merits here.

The nose reveals slightly stewed, yet ruby & candied fruits of; blackberries, strawberries, dark cherries, plum, creamy raspberries and notes of pomegranate. Pronounced baking spices; vanilla, cinnamon, clove and nutmeg. Black, rich earth, black licorice, sweet tarry notes, limestone, dark spice, dry, crushed rocks and bright; red, dark, blue and purple florals.

The body is big, thick and lush. She still has sticky, meaty, tarry tannins. The structure & tension is quite big. The length and balance are good but, still require some more time to hit their peak. Slightly stewed, yet ruby & candied fruits of; blackberries, strawberries, dark cherries, plum, creamy raspberries and notes of pomegranate. Pronounced baking spices; vanilla, cinnamon, clove and nutmeg. Black, rich earth, gravely, dark volcanic minerals, black licorice, sweet tarry notes, limestone, dark spice, stem inclusion, leather, hints of graphite, dry, crushed rocks and bright; red, dark, blue and purple florals. The acidity is round and good. The big, long, finish is, rich, ruby, elegant, well polished and persists for minutes.

Photos of; one of the vineyards they source fruit, three friends & partners that founded Anthill; Anthony Filberti, David Low, and Webster Marquez who met while working at Williams Selyem and the staff working the process in the cellar.

Lemon rind, gravel, and some unripe peach aromas
Light, smooth, low alcohol and super fresh.
Bright, mild acid and Meyer lemon palette. Awesome!

Webster Cellars

Proprietary Napa Valley Red Blend 2013

Truly noteworthy wine drinking wonderfully now and will only get better with some time. Living in Bordeaux and all over Europe allowed namesake and winemaker Keith Webster a personal look at the world's best wines. Settling in Napa he's now crafting ultra-luxury micro productions of wines he was inspired by, like this one called Right Bank. At 13.9% alcohol it resembles a right bank in more than name. Delicious, "farmer's market fresh" dark red fruits, shimmering garnet/ruby color with soft notes of spice, vanilla, cinnamon and lavender. Pure, clean and fresh mouth feel, good acid, tight, neutral tannins. 100cs production, best of luck finding. Delicious! — 7 years ago
