One of the best Swiss Pinots we sell and it is a smoke show in 2020. Wow. Ethereal perfume of sappy cherries, black cherries, late season cherries, light smokey oak, camphor, burnt fireplace embers, decaying leaves, vanilla extract and spice. So complex and deep. 9.7 nose. Insane. Wow! Wow! So complex, elegant and juicy. Sweet fruit with tons of energy but my goodness what finesse and sleek fruit. This is amazing. The finish has a lipstick like intensity. Stunning on the PNP and I am sure will improve with air. What a finish. Goes on and on. This has such a weightlessness to it plus top notch fruit clarity. Unreal delicacy. Just a stunning showing.

What a nose on day 2. Unreal harmony, purity and clarity. The essence of cherries. Blown away. So expansive. Palate is silken, sweet finessed pinot fruit with a long sappy finish. Remarkable. — 3 months ago

Gorgeous aromas. Mid season sweet cherry fruit, spices, some gorgeous sweet oak, wet earth, florals and aromas that penetrate deep in the nasal cavity. Almost some barely ripe blackberry and cassis. Really a whole world of difference than last August. Just silly good aromas. Palate is ripe and juicy with a lithe, silky texture. Awesome purity and balance and such haunting delicacy. Sweet fruit and so nimble this is shockingly great. I vastly underrated this last time. Sweet, lithe and ripe tannins. This is stunning and achingly beautiful. 9.6 for now. The pale golden straw color is appealing, while the nose certainly isn’t scaring anyone away. Clean earth notes define the apple, papaya and lime aromas beautifully. The palate shows off-dry pear, apple and Meyer lemon flavors on a bed of acidity. Finishing long, it’s the earth and citrus that stays around after the sip. The wine’s body makes it a lot more versatile that just “salads and sipping.” Winemaker Markus Niggli recommends you pair it with anything off the grill. — 8 years ago

Nose is floral. Early season cherry. Mountain herbs.

Palate is very precise early season cherry. Excellent juiciness.

Long and sapid finish. So juicy.

92.5 on open.

Has this alpine character. A Bourgogne rouge … but a decidedly Swiss one.

As this opens some elegant richness and more density. More delicious.

Coffee/Chocolate/spices/cherry/earthy and mineral. Really wonderful. So enveloping and complete. Super floral and high toned. Wonderful spice. Juicy, deep and concentrated. But so closed. Amazing finesse and nimbleness. Big tannins, finish is a bit short for now but will extend. It has a sneaky persistence. Nose is crazy floral. So sexy and aromatic. Lacey and loose on the palate and tangy and fresh and supple. This has it all going on. Very silky and sweet and opens and opens every second. This is very high quality. This will last 20+ years as well. This is a superstar wine. — 2 years ago
