Interesting take on an international varietal by Swiss transplant to Etna, some black currant on the nose and spicy leather on the palate but no unicorns @Carson. Tannins give it a nice long finish. Not bad stuff. Unsure of QPR, since this was a gift from the vigniaolo to my wife. — 9 years ago

2012 - Only Nerello Mascalese for this Etna Rosso DOC. Dry tannins and fruit, very long finish. Awesome. — 10 years ago
Bright red fruit (think cherry Icee) on the nose along with a waft of potpourri and a subtle hint of salumi, finishing with plush tannins and a good balance of black earth-laden acidity. — 10 years ago

A unique grape from a unique winemaker - full bodied with dark fruits and leather, moderate tannins, and ripasso-esque lingering finish. A nice happy ending. — 9 years ago
