Bright red fruit (think cherry Icee) on the nose along with a waft of potpourri and a subtle hint of salumi, finishing with plush tannins and a good balance of black earth-laden acidity. — 10 years ago
A unique grape from a unique winemaker - full bodied with dark fruits and leather, moderate tannins, and ripasso-esque lingering finish. A nice happy ending. — 9 years ago
Interesting take on an international varietal by Swiss transplant to Etna, some black currant on the nose and spicy leather on the palate but no unicorns @Carson. Tannins give it a nice long finish. Not bad stuff. Unsure of QPR, since this was a gift from the vigniaolo to my wife. — 9 years ago

Nicely balanced Sicilian Etna red for dinner with Selma Ismail at Piccola Cucina Estiatorio in Noho. Red fruited minerals nose with lively profile on palate. Even with most of the seafood. — 16 days ago
