Nose: Burgundian. White flowers. Hint of green apple
Palate mineral. Green apple. Delicious. Long. Juicy. — 24 days ago
This is “A Sierra” if that matters.
Nose: terrific. Fresh crunchy blackberries. Lilacs. As this opens a bit savory. I really like the nose.
Palate: delicious blackberries. Drying tannins which dissipate. Delicious. Almost an elegant glou glou wine. A hint of tomato vine. — a month ago

Monthelie Les champs fuillots pinot noir.
This needs maybe 18-24 months to really be drinking well but this is a spectacularly well made bottle of wine.
Nose: pink roses.
Palate: very elegant cherries. Very fresh but the acidity is totally contained within the fruit. Silky texture. The fruit is early season cherries but without the pop and crunch of real cherries. Extremely elegant.
A touch of sensuality. Not in a sexual way. Think more like one of those high end perfume commercials that’s suggestive and surreal but not sexual.

“I can get their premier crus for $30 more why should I buy this ??”
Man. That is just wrongheaded.
This is just classic Buffet but with a bit less density and complexity.
You get the sexy fruit
You get the spice.
And perfectly well made.
Nose: classic buffet candied lilacs. There’s a warmth to this. Like a lover holding you on the sofa after a rough day.
Palate: sensual midseason cherries. Some lovely spice. So so so delicious. Some nice structure for midterm ageing.
$40?? $40?!!! You are insane not to buy this. Insane.

Nose: pleasant savory floral melange.

On open is quite vegetal. Needs an hour at this point to smooth out.
Nose: some game. Savory. Some pink and purple flowers.
Palate: savory. Cherries. Really meaty. Interesting. Still fresh but a wine that demands magret du canard. Good freshness.
Also would kill with duck leg confit.
A very well made Bordeaux.

Nose: crazy density. Very complex. Mineral. Lots of hard to define flavors. Candied lemon peel? Almost an elegant nuttiness? White flowers as it opens. Wisps of vanilla. Lemon flower. Yellow melon. 9.7 nose. At least.
Palate: elegantly rich. Sweet minerals. Elegant balancing acidity. Delicious. So juicy. There is something so expansive about the palate presence. Lacks elite density or this would be higher.
Wow. Maybe the greatest white burgundy value ever.
Changes in the glass. A fascinating drink. Really. Just get a baguette, some butter and smoked fish and hang out for an evening. Maybe some Camembert. O
