Blueberry with violets on nose and palate. Well balanced. A bit too drying on the finish.

Will do complete notes on next bottle. I always love Poesia, but this one is a bit disintegrated, some bitterness. The parts are all present, however.

Opaque purple in color, Welch's grape juice, cedar, and anise on the nose. Palate is evolved and settled with muddled blue and blackberry. Definitely nods to Porto with a tawny hint. A bit hot on the alcohol (guessing 14.8 ABV). Wine is dry, medium minus acidity. Full bodied. A bit of bitterness keeps this from presenting a rounded mouth feel. Tannins non existent at this point. Good.

Beautiful bouquet of flowers-- which are not my specialty aromas-- I'll go with violets and dried roses. Herbal and floral notes carry over to the palate with a hint of red fruit. Very nicely integrated-- round medium everything, medium plus alcohol. Mature soft tannins.

Finally talked this dude into drinking.
I don't know, maybe I'm getting old but aged Riojas are starting to taste/feel weighty to me. It's very good. Muddled fruits, resolved tannins, nice and round, leather notes. But somewhat boring. Probably my mood.

Opaque, deep dark ruby. Blackberry on the nose and palate. Some beets and dried cranberries assemble when held in the mouth. I suspect this would cut a prime rib nicely, but I'm pairing cheese only. Medium weight (need the plus here), medium+ alcohol, medium+ acidity --- way too early for this one. Tannins are tight.
