Big, full, deep black cherries. — 6 years ago
A wine of complete harmony and restraint. Balance is backward with tremendous amount of reserve. A striking feature of this wine is plush, weighty and soft attack which is immediately enveloped by grippy tannins. There is neither artificiality nor rusticity, just a great material made by almost perfect vintage and enlightened traditional winemaking. While this is undoubtedly great and fully deserves the single vineyard designate, it might not be for those who like their wines to be aggressive and immediately attractive. — 4 years ago
Chocolate licorice and coffee undertones... Drinks incredible right out the bottle!! Curious to see what it tastes like in an hour or so... Perfection! — 6 years ago
Muted black and red fruits with some spices and hints of menthol. Very tight. Spices, with black and red fruits. Pithy with moderate acid and tannins. Very tight and young with some nicely integrated creamy oak. A cellar candidate. Update! I took the wine home and it's starting to really open up. The fruit is quite gorgeous and really starting to shine. Still quite pithy though. — 9 years ago
A ripe Barolo from a warm vintage. Compared to previous releases, this Cru has more approachable tannins and dark cherry flavors (almost raisin for one of our tasters). Not cheap, but available in some southern states Costco stores... so if this style is up your alley, stock up. — 5 years ago
