1995 vintage. It was glorious. Deep deep purple color. No aftertaste. Rich in tannins. One of the very best years of Mouton ever produced. I had with steak and with family. In my life I have been privileged to have some great wines. This was one of the very best. So smooth right from the start. Powerful yet subtle. — a year ago
Full bodied. This has an expanding mid palate with great weight but somehow seamless at the same time. It offers everything from dark fruits, bacon fat, chocolate, rose hip, rose petals, cinnamon, cracked black pepper, black tea, violets and so on. Nice long ending with a mineral sensation. You end up with a massive amount of tasting notes that shows the complexity and quality of this wine. — a year ago
Celebrating with a couple of nice wines tonight.
2 hour decant(some fine/cloudy sediment). A striking dark garnet color. On the nose: Restrained notes of dark berry/blueberry, perfumed chocolate, espresso, graphite, planting soil. Taste: creamy, rich, brooding wine with dark cherry/plum, chocolate espresso, smokey tobacco, cedar, graphite and a long dry finish with some slightly persistent tannins and a touch of heat. YUM, but not sure where this will go....got a few more bottles so we will see. — a year ago
Medium plus Ruby in colour - when swirled a tawny note shows. Dusty berry derived aromas - cassis/blackcurrant on the medium weight palate; cedar/cigar box with a touch of capsicum. A very good mature left bank Bordeaux from an excellent vintage. I had a bottle of this 3 years ago and received some commentary from other Delectable users that I was drinking this too early. It does have a longer life than I said 3 years ago but I am more than happy to drink it now. As LM Segal said about this wine on Delectable, “If you’ve got em drink em”. As always with Lynch Bages it deserves a higher rating than 5th Growth - but in summary not overly complex. — a year ago
A bit closed on the nose and still some alcoholic heat which proves that additional cellaring is needed. Besides that a fantastic wine. Quite some acidity which surprised me for a Napa wine. If you have this wine I would keep it at least another year or two before opening it — a year ago

Initially bretty and angular, it all blew off after 30 mins revealing a classic Pauillac both full and feminine, lots of cedar and a whiff of candied strawberry. Long finish. Oddly, dropped off after 2 hrs of air, suggesting maybe drink up. — a year ago
