Check out this excerpt and enjoy the handful of notes we've gathered from Ian and the Delectable community! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "Two thousand eighteen was generally cool and rainy, the polar opposite of the hot, dry 2017 growing season. Not surprisingly, the 2018 Rosatos are characterized by sleek frames and less flesh (but lower alcohol levels, too) than the wines of 2017. The less successful 2018s (especially from the north of Italy) are marred by green streaks and unripe aromas and flavors. The best are perfumed and graceful, and good examples, although there are no real blockbusters. I especially liked the Rosatos from Etna, as well as some of the Nebbiolo-based wines, but there are many lovely Chiarettos, Puglian Rosatos and Cerasuolo d’Abruzzos to choose from as well." -- Ian D'Agata, Vinous, Think Pink: Italy’s Lively 2018 Rosatos , May 2019

Medium pale pink. Floral strawberry, herbs and violets on the inviting nose. Then a slightly candied quality and a hint of residual sweetness diminish the vibrancy of the floral and juicy red berry flavors but contribute to a smooth, round mouthfeel. Vivid pink. Aromas of red fruits, licorice and white flowers. Then big, rich, dense and spicy with slightly sweet flavors of pomegranate and watermelon. Then bright and juicy, with laser-like acidity lifting and extending the red fruit flavors on the juicy, long, floral and slightly saline finish.
