A very complete nose of brioche, citrus and apple pie. In the mouth air is needed to really give this a chance to strut its stuff. Prominent but not overwhelming acid at first but an hour of air makes this as round as a beach ball. The palate starts to duplicate the nose with an hour or so of time. A 5th growth from the wonderful 2010 vintage! 3 hour decant(some chunky sediment). A distinguished dark purplish magenta color. On the nose: sweet black fruit, floral, cedar, slight funky earth, eucalyptus, pencil lead. Taste: Wow! Coming along nicely.....a velvety full body wine with blackberry, cassis, chocolate espresso, cedar, and a floral leather dry long finish. Even with 3 hour decant, some tannins still kicking me!!!.....I would give it another 5 years (it will get a better score) and then drink over 15 years. — 4 years ago

Beautiful red rose leather bouquet. Will the bouquet last as long as the 3 year roses? Nah, but it’s enticing for a night.

Warming, perfect for 30 degree freezing weather. Nestled by Christmas lights and Downtown Abbey (somehow I’ve garnered a liking for this show).

A velvet tipped tome this red tells the story of not being too ambitious. It knows it’s place and value. It isn’t too much of anything. Fruit, tannins, acidity all muted but there, nonetheless. That just leaves the roses which is just fine with me. — 4 years ago

I must admit, the idea of terroir in vodka made me laugh - at first. After tasting the Lake Bartezek and Smorgory Forest vodkas from Belvedere, I'm a convert. These vodkas are made with exactly the same process as the regular Belvedere. The only difference is they are grown on single estates from an heirloom Rye variety. The two single estate releases only differ in the location of the farm and the results are shocking. Taste them side by side and compare with a standard bottle of Belvedere and you too will see that vodka is not in fact a "neutral" spirit. — 4 years ago

First things first, that color. Supremely unique, exotically eye catching. A scarlet robe with medium intense fine bubbles. The nose is absolutely bursting with red fruit and yeasty aromas. Blood orange, raspberries, and pomegranate leaps from the glass. Mandarin orange and freshly baked bread also show up.

60% Pinot Noir, with 20% of that being still wine explains the color and profile. Creamy and sexy, this is a highly intense champagne with a ton of character. Quite vinous, it’s rich and alluring. Very well balanced with enough complexity and nice acidity.

Juicy on the palate with more ripe red fruit showing off. Just a hint of brioche but strawberries, black cherries, and lingonberry dominate. More blood orange and tangerines mingle with black tea and a drizzle of honey. This is what you’re looking for. Excellent stuff. — 4 years ago
